I’m traveling to Japan for the second time; the first time (a short Tokyo trip) I didn’t take a guidebook and relied on Insta reels I saved and Google Maps bookmarks, and felt like I missed a lot of stuff that was probably nearby but I wasn’t aware of.
This time I’d like to have a guidebook, but digital.
I feel like the digital/Kindle versions of most guidebooks are far less useful than a book, but I know I’ll never carry an actual book around with me.
Has anyone has a good experience with a digital guidebook brand (Fodor’s, Rough Guides etc) or know of an online site worth subscribing to for this trip? I will only be in the big three: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, plus side trips from those cities.
