Hi Folks, we (family of 4 but all healthy adults) will be traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto where we will stay for 4 nights in late Dec, and will be sightseeing Kyoto itself for 2 days. Is the following itinerary doable or too strenuous? We don't mind walking but just want to avoid being too hectic or rushed. Also would being in late Dec affect the itinerary? Thanks:
Day 1
• Shinkansen Tokyo → Kyoto
• Taxi/bus → Kiyomizu-dera
• Walk 5–10 min → Ninen-zaka & Sannen-zaka
• Walk 10 min → Gion – evening stroll
• Pontocho for dinner
Day 2
• JR Sagano Line Kyoto → Saga-Arashiyama
• 10 min walk → Bamboo Grove
• 5 min walk → Tenryu-ji
• 10 min walk → Togetsukyo Bridge
• 20 min uphill hike → Monkey Park Iwatayama (should I skip this?)
• Return JR to central Kyoto
• Late afternoon: JR Nara Line→ Fushimi Inari Taisha
Day 3-4 : side trips to Nara and Osaka
