G1’s Block Phases MVP by Cagematch notes

Hello everyone, since the start of the G1, there was a lot of talk about who is the G1 MVP. Some said Taichi, others Yuya ect ect.

I took all the notes of the G1 blocks matches from Cagematch, to get the average score of every wrestlers and who got the best opponent award.

Info : Hiroshi Tanahashi vs SANADA and Ren Narita vs YOSHI-HASHI didn't get score because they're were too short. So all 4 wrestlers have their average score calculate by 8 and not by 9. I also remove Gabe Kidd out of discussion, because he has only one match and that is not relevant (but the match is counted for Takeshita).

First, Block A.

  1. Yuya Uemura, with an average score of 7.18
  2. David Finlay, with an average score of 6.94
  3. Taichi, with an average score of 6.92
  4. Yota Tsuji, with an average score of 6.65
  5. Ryohei Oiwa, with an average score of 6.53
  6. Hiroshi Tanahashi, with an average score of 6.30
  7. Oleg Boltin, with an average score of 6.25
  8. Callum Newman, with an average score of 6.02
  9. SANADA, with an average score of 5.18
  10. EVIL, with an average score of 4.33

Now Block B :

  1. Zack Sabre Jr, with an average score of 7.92
  2. Konosuke Takeshita, with an average score of 7.87
  3. Shingo Takagi, with an average score of 6.91
  4. YOSHI-HASHI, with an average score of 6.60
  5. El Phantasmo, with an average score of 6.40
  6. Shota Umino, with an average score of 6.35
  7. Great-O-Khan, with an average score of 6.23
  8. Drilla Moloney, with an average score of 5.96
  9. Ren Narita, with an average score of 5.24

And to finish, the best opponent category (which wrestlers gave the best ranked match to others) :

All at 4 matches :

  • Yuya Uemura (for Hiroshi Tanahashi, Oleg Boltin, Ryohei Oiwa and Yota Tsuji)
  • Konosuke Takeshita (for Drilla Moloney, Great-O-Khan, Shingo Takagi and Zack Sabre Jr.)
  • Zack Sabre Jr. (for El Phantasmo, Ren Narita, Shota Umino and YOSHI-HASHI)

After that we have with 2 matches :

  • Taichi (for Callum Newman and David Finlay)
  • David Finlay (for SANADA and Taichi)

And finally, with 1 match :

  • Ryohei Oiwa (for Yuya Uemura)
  • SANADA (for EVIL)
  • Shingo Takagi (for Konosuke Takeshita)
