A right foot believed to belong to an adult was found on a sandy beach in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City. Police are investigating the case as both a crime and an accident.

"The torso of a human body was reportedly discovered in the sea over there, facing a logistics center lined with containers."
Just before 8:00 PM on the 6th, a worker on a boat docked at Minato Kashii Pier in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, reported "something resembling an arm drifting."
Police investigation revealed that the body of what appeared to be an adult male was found about 40 meters offshore from the pier.
Only the upper chest remained; the lower half of the body and left arm were missing. The body was wrapped in what appeared to be underwear around its neck.
On the morning of the 6th, a right leg believed to be that of an adult was found on a beach in Nishitozaki, Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, about 5 kilometers away.
Police plan to perform an autopsy on the right leg and upper body on the 8th to determine whether the bodies belong to the same person, and are investigating both the crime and the accident.
