No updates after applying for JP Bank account

I applied for an account 2 weeks ago. 3 people I know applied for an account around the same time. Within a week they all got their documents delivered to their addresses.

I have not heard anything from the bank since leaving their property.

When I called the English support line they said it is likely due to the recent holiday. But that doesn't really align with the experiences of the other 3 people.

Any information from similar situations would be great. Its difficult to get time off work to go there.

Should I reapply or apply somewhere else? I've only been in japan 4 weeks so I know my options for banks are limited. But I'm a JET employed by Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
