Hi! Me and my friends are heading to Tokyo for Halloween 2025. With the new Halloween rules in place this year, I wanted to ask:
- Where can we party on Halloween night?
Since Shibuya’s Halloween street gatherings are now heavily restricted based on our research, we’re looking for alternatives.
We will still be going to Shibuya, but maybe people with recent travel during halloween can share other places we can go to on the day of? These could be clubs, themed bars, or organized Halloween events where we can still dress up and have fun. Bonus points if it’s easy to get back to Shinjuku or Ueno late at night.
- Any group activities for our non-Halloween days?
We’d prefer non-touristy ideas so please no Disneyland or Universal Studios. We were supposed to go to Joypolis for the group activity day but it's too far from where we will be staying.
We’re open to quirky, unique, or local experiences in or near central Tokyo. Think arcade competitions, bar hopping tours, or anything a friend group would enjoy.
And no museums and shrines, please! We have this scheduled on a different day 🙂
Some more info:
– we are a group of 7 people (ages 28-32)
– budget would be 3-5k yen per person for the non-Halloween day activity
– we will be staying at either Shinjuku or Ueno (accommodation will be adjusted to halloween night party area)
– travel dates are on October 29 to November 3, 2025
Would love to hear suggestions from locals or anyone who’s been recently. Thanks in advance!
