EDIT: I live in Japan.
I applied for a work visa on June 6th with the part-time job I was working at earlier this year (was a language student and graduated at the end of June and stopped working then as well), however, since it is taking so long, they are considering cancelling the contract (English teaching) because they are having difficulties due to a lack of manpower (their words). If they decide to not continue with the contract, what will happen with my visa application? Can I still receive it but will be without a job and will need to find one within a certain amount of time, or prove to immigration that I'm searching for a new job? I plan on going to immigration next week to find out what the status is and how much longer it is expected to take because my job is considering cancelling the contract due to the long wait, but I don't know if they will be able to provide me any information.
Has anyone been in a similar situation before?
