Hello everyone!
I am a Japanese Studies student and I'm preparing to defend my bachelors thesis in September. I heard from a friend that our professors often ask about the current situation in Japan regarding the topic you chose. My paper is about japanese proverbs related to family – I analysed them based on the grammar, vocabulary and how they portray a japanese family.
I have a bunch of questions that hopefully people who live in Japan, or natives could answer.
1) How often do you hear/see/notice (any kind of) proverbs in everyday life in Japan?
2) At school: Do they teach them? In what grades? Can they possibly appear on major exams (example: it appears in a text and you have to explain its function and importance etc.)?
3) Do you think the current family trends match the stereotypes? If not, what's changed?
I'll gladly read anything you guys have to say – all answers will be of help. Thank you very much!
