Hello all!
Very excited to be visiting Japan for the first time soon. I like to do a bit of (amateur) photography. Where I live now (the UK) people get a bit funny about having photos taken of them, I mean, so do I in all honesty.
I don't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable so I was wondering if there were any good phrases I might be able to use that would allow me to ask people if taking pictures of them/near them or of things they own etc. was okay, beyond what I might find via google translate.
Or in the same vein, should I just avoid such scenarios entirely? (i.e. don't take photos like that at all)
Any help would be appreciated!
