On the night of July 3, a fireworks festival in Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, was abruptly canceled just 10 minutes after it began. Police officers discovered that some fireworks had exploded on a barge instead of launching into the sky, leading to safety concerns.
The event, held at Akashi Kaikyo Park, was scheduled to include around 5,000 fireworks over 30 minutes. However, it was canceled shortly after it started due to the malfunction. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the pyrotechnicians or attendees.
The event organizers explained that one of the fireworks accidentally exploded inside the launch tube on the boat, which was damaged as a result. Due to uncertainty about the safety of continuing the show, they decided to cancel the event. The organizers are investigating the cause of the malfunction, despite conducting the launch according to legal regulations.
