Weird encounter on the train this morning in Tokyo

So this morning I was on the train, just trying to find a seat. I ended up next to this middle-aged Japanese guy — glasses, suitcase, sweaty, bloodshot eyes, kind of a mess. At first I didn’t think much of it, just pulled out my phone and started messing around with Grok’s new photo-to-video feature.
Then I started hearing him muttering. At first it was so quiet I couldn’t make out the words, but when I paid attention it was like… he was talking to himself, saying stuff like “hot, move over, get up”, and then basically cursing at me under his breath. He never touched me, but for like 15 minutes straight he kept this low-key harassment going.
It’s not that I was scared to respond, but with other passengers around, I didn’t want to look like I was just another crazy person yelling on the train. Still, right before we got close to Shinjuku and people started getting off, I snapped and told him he was a fat, ugly, smelly pig, that I can sit wherever I want
Disgusting way to start the morning.
Has anyone else had similar experiences with people like this in Japan?
