I could use some advice. I really want to see Okunoshima on my trip this November. We will be in Hiroshima 4* days 3 nights. On the 4th day we are going to Miyajima and staying overnight at a nice Ryokan. After, we head to Osaka to continue our trip.
Originally I was planning on visiting Okunoshima in between Hiroshima and Osaka, but I’m struggling with the timing of everything since we would be leaving from Miyajima and we have to check into our hotel in Osaka by 22:00
We would need to leave Miyajima before 8:00 to get to Okunoshima hopefully in time for the 12:05 ferry then leave by 16:35 to catch all the trains needed to get to Osaka before check in at 22:00. This is a lot of travel for one day and I am worried about missing the ferry to Okunoshima and having to cut our time on the island drastically. I also would check out of our nice Ryokan earlier than the check out time.
Would it make more sense to just see Okunoshima as a day trip from Hiroshima on one of the 3 days of our trip? We would go back and forth but then we wouldn’t be in as much of a rush, can take our time leaving Miyajima and explore more of Hiroshima if we want to before heading to Osaka.
I also wanted to do a day trip to Iwakuni to hike to the castle and see the bridge.
Is 1 full day and a two half days/night outings enough to enjoy Hiroshima?
