Osaka Prefectural Police arrest two male police officers on suspicion of assault and cruelty. The arrested officers were investigating the man in a home search when they slapped and pulled by the hair.

On August 3, the Osaka Prefectural Police announced the arrest of two male police officers on suspicion of special public official assault and abuse. They are accused of physically assaulting a man, who was the target of their investigation, during a house search. Allegations include slapping his face, pulling his hair, and punching him.

The arrested officers are Tokinaga Chikara, a 51-year-old assistant inspector, and Yusuke Sakaguchi, a 32-year-old sergeant, both from the Criminal Investigation Division. The alleged incident occurred on July 15 at a rental office in Osaka while investigating a labor law violation. Tokinaga is accused of slapping the man’s face and pushing him down, while Sakaguchi reportedly slapped his face, pulled his hair, and punched his abdomen.

The man reported the assault during a meeting with his lawyer, leading the lawyer to contact the police, which brought the situation to light. Following this, the man was released, as police misconduct was recognized.

Tokinaga denies beating the man, claiming he only touched him without the intent of assault, while Sakaguchi admits to the allegations. The Osaka Prefectural Police expressed regret over the arrest of officers and stated that they will deal with the situation strictly based on future investigation results.
