This isn’t exactly related to the rising rice prices, but how much rice do you eat? Living alone, a 2kg bag of rice usually lasts me a month or so, and this is as someone who can’t eat wheat. Supplement my rice consumption with rice bread (since rice flour prices are the same as always) and harusame.
Fast forward to last week, bf comes to visit and I buy a 2kg bag of rice on Monday. Bag is empty by Friday night. I am shocked 😂. How in the world are you no rice no life people or family members of them managing? I guess 10kg bags is the way to go but living alone I’ve been sticking to the 2kg bags. Really makes me appreciate how much the rising rice prices must be affecting Japanese families.
