Using parasols yay or nay?

My Japanese friends have been pushing me to use parasols and cover up my skin for “anti-aging,” but I always thought it was necessary to be in the sunlight to get vitamin D and the general mental health boost.

I personally like the sunlight, don’t mind the heat, and always use sunscreen, and tend to wear more skin exposing clothes like short sleeves, but it feels like everyone is panicked I’m going to look 60 in the next 5 years at this rate.

I rarely go outside most of the time because I work remote and I’m quite low on vitamin D despite supplements so it feels counterintuitive to me to hide myself from the sun… Not sure how everyone else is getting their vitamins while avoiding sunlight like the plague.

Am I the weird one here? Should I be more worried for my skin? What’s everyone else doing?
