My partner and I are traveling to Japan for the first time in early April 2026. We'll be spending a total of 19 days there, including flights. We'll start in Tokyo (4 days), travel on to Nikko, then Kyoto, Hiroshoma, Miyajima, Osaka, Nara, Fujikawaguchiko, and finish back in Tokyo. We currently have two and a half days planned in Nikko and would like to replace one day with the Kiso Valley (Magome – Tsumango). We'd love to see a bit of authentic Japan that also combines nature with the experience. Is this worth it, or are there perhaps better places along the way from Kyoto to Tokyo? Thank you!
