Hey Everyone, I’ll be visiting Japan in October!
Would love to get your thoughts and suggestions on my first international trip.
I’ll mainly be in Osaka and Tokyo. Big anime fan (into Beyblade, figures, Pokémon, etc.), also planning to hit USJ and either Disneyland or DisneySea (never been to either, so confused which one to pick).
Would really appreciate:
Restaurant suggestions
Shopping spots (electronics, anime, streetwear, collectibles, shoes etc)
Must-see vs. skip recommendations
Any edits to my itinerary to make it smoother
Here’s my current draft itinerary (open to tweaks):
Osaka (Oct 15–20)
Day 1: Arrival + Dotonbori street food crawl
Day 2: Universal Studios Japan (Super Nintendo World + Harry Potter World)
Day 3: Kyoto day trip – Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, Gion
Day 4: Nara half-day (deer park + Todai-ji) → Osaka shopping (Shinsaibashi / Den Den Town)
Day 5: Aquarium + Tempozan Ferris Wheel → More anime shopping in Nipponbashi Den Den Town
Tokyo (Oct 20–26)
Day 1: Explore Shinjuku (Kabukicho, Omoide Yokocho) + ramen dinner
Day 2: DisneySea (leaning towards this instead of Disneyland)
Day 3: Hakone / Mt. Fuji day trip (cable cars, Lake Ashi, Owakudani)
Day 4: Doraemon Museum → Shibuya & Harajuku (Nintendo Tokyo, Pokémon Center, fashion, crepes)
Day 5: Akihabara + Nakano Broadway (anime shopping day, Beyblades, figures, retro games)
Day 6: Flex day (teamLab Planets / Ghibli Museum / Ikebukuro Pokémon Mega Store / Mario Kart street racing)
Day 7: Last-minute shopping (Tokyo Station Character Street)
This is my first time planning an international trip, so any advice would help a ton. 🙏
Would love to hear what locals or frequent travelers think I should add, skip, or do differently.
