6 Tokyo pachinko firm executives nabbed over vote-buying tied to industry candidate


TL;DR Six executives of Derupara, a pachinko parlor operator, were arrested for allegedly promising cash payments to employees in exchange for voting for Yasuhisa Abe, a Liberal Democratic Party candidate in the July House of Councillors election. Abe is the chairman of the national organization of pachinko parlors, and was the first organizational candidate ever fielded by the pachinko industry in a national election.
