Hi Community,
We're a couple in our early 30s planning our first Japan trip scheduled later this year from Nov 12 – Dec 3.
From our initial plans, we removed a day from Kanazawa + Shirakawa-go and a couple of days from Hiroshima + Itsukushima. The itinerary felt too "packed" and we're sure this isn't a one and done trip to Japan. Instead we added those days to spend more time in the Kyoto and Osaka region. We're now trying to plan out the day trips we can make from these two places. We'll be doing the Nakasendo Trail for a couple of days before reaching Kyoto.
22/11- 27/11:- Kyoto (5 nights): Possible day trips include Hiking Mt. Hiei, Amanohashidate and Uji
We are open to replacing Amanohashidate with another hike. Any recommendations?
27/11- 1/12 :- Osaka (4 Nights) ->Possible day trips to Nara, Kobe + Himeji.
For Nara, we're wondering whether we can squeeze in a hike up to Mt. Kasuga?
Also thinking of cutting one night from Osaka and spending it in the region around Wakayama or Koyasan. Any thoughts on this?
Looking forward to inputs and thoughts 🙂
