Looking for constructive feedback on food choices I’ve made from tabalog searches, YouTube & Reddit.
If you think you have a better option I’d love to hear it, or if you think one is not good, please explain why.
Also any pro tips about if I need a reservation, long line etc would be appreciated.
Hoping to get a good mix of chains, ‘mom & pop’ shops & a few upscale places. Food is the main motivator for this trip, & don't worry there is still plenty of room for me to discover places naturally as I explore, I will be in Tokyo for awhile. First time there!
Staying in Akasaka, don't want to go crazy far unless its a really special experience
Chains near hotel: Coco ichiban, yoshinoya, torikizoku, kushikatsu tanaka, Yamachan wings? Also not close but might try yakiniku-like.
- Sushi labo shibuya lunch, seems reservation might be needed
- Jojoen yakiniku lunch 53rd floor shinjuku, nice view
- Onigiri bongo, prepared for line
- Gyukatsu Kyoto katsugyu in yodobashi camera, will be in the store anyway
- Fuku Chan yakisoba Asakusa, seems cool location
- Pizza Marumo, close to travelers factory store nakameguro
- Tamawarai soba shibuya, must wait in line for lunch
- Katsuo shokudo, possibly wait in line
- Pancake ginza west, seems expensive might skip because I think fluffy pancake cafes are everywhere as a snack instead?
- Mita basara hon ten sukiyaki, reservation needed? Michelin star, 3k yen for the lunch set seems amazing
- Godai me nodaiwa azabu ligura honten, unagi Michelin star, can’t find much info at all, wondering if it’s better deal at lunch? Or need reservation for dinner?
- Miyazaki chicken kurama shibuya, the charcoal chicken looks good, can't find if its cheaper at lunch?
- Types of food I haven’t found restaurants for yet, looking for recs:
- Tsukemen specifically. But also ramen. I don’t really eat pork, I can tolerate a bit in the broth but no straight tonkotsu broth, won’t eat char-shu. Even shio & shoyu ramen i see usually give you a ton of char shu… Maybe I can order without the pork at the ticket machine? Id feel bad not eating it at a small ramen place.
- Ten-don (sauced tempura bowl)
- Best conveyor belt sushi chain(s)?
- Really good Dim sum in Yokohama Chinatown? Will take day trip there
- Thanks!
