How long after starting work to apply for a high-limit credit card?

Hello!

I moved to Japan at the beginning of this year under a spouse visa. I was unemployed for the first half of the year and recently started working with a new company around mid-July.

I am working remotely in tech sales for a US company. I got hired as a contractor (because the company does not have a business entity in Japan) and I am currently in the process of setting up Sole Proprietorship.

My base salary is a little over ¥10M but I expect to make anywhere between ¥15M-¥20M after commission.

My question is: How long should I wait before applying for a credit card to give myself the highest chance of approval for a credit card? I am looking for a credit card with a higher monthly limit (ideally ¥500,000+).

I will have 1 full paystub and 0.5 of a paystub as proof of income after this month ends.

Thank you!
