Cycling fix

Firstly allow me to apologise for the many enquiries you may well see from me..
Family trip coming up and a first time to Japan. I wanted to ride the shimanami kaido as I’m a capable cyclist and this looks like a nice easy scenic day out . But it seems most likely we won’t be venturing in that direction.
Tokyo & mt Fuji 5 lakes area is on the cards and I think some relaxed family riding will happen but I feel the need to do a one day that feels special and a little harder. I’ve heard of a Famous 48 hairpin climb to Lake Chuzenji.
I’d also be totally down for some forest gravel. It would have to be a half or three quarter day as I don’t want to monopolise the hols. Any suggestions would be most welcome and appreciated

  1. Personally I’d cycle around Lake Yamanaka, not Lake Kawaguchi, simply because it’s less overrun by tourists.

Unless you’re planning to get a family member killed and collect the insurance money that sounds like a really bad idea for a bike trip.
