So long story short, I have a daily-use medication which is prescribed in Japan, so I didn't bring a ton with me. I get here and talk to a doc only to find out that yes, they prescribe it, but not for my specific diagnosis, and therefore it won't be covered by NHI. I did the math and somehow, it's cheaper to order it from the US and have it shipped over.
So I ordered a three-month supply, which is currently being held by a friend in the US, and I've been trying to fill out a Yunyu Kakunin-sho, but a lot of the fields don't seem to apply. Like I got dinged for not putting an e-ticket or itinerary, but it's being shipped, so what am I supposed to put there? The tooltip/manual mention a "Pending International Mail Item Inspection Form" but as far as I can tell that's something I get after it's been received by customs. Do I tell my friend who has my meds to fire the suckers off and once they're stuck in customs, THEN I fill this thing out? Like, is that actually, really what I'm supposed to do? Where do I even begin to tell her what to put in the box?
I can't even figure out how (or where) to ask clarifying questions. I tracked down a phone number but I'm saving that for some final stage of pure desperation, since my Japanese is 日常会話 level, not "have a phone conversation about things I don't even understand in English" level.
What should I do here? Any advice or resources are greatly appreciated.
