Homeowner’s insurance?

I've looked into Sony for their good reviews and flexibility and Novari for their English support (my Japanese is fine but it'd be nice to have). Novari's plans were ¥470,000-¥515,000 /5 years and pretty comprehensive, including earthquake expenses, theft, all that, while Sony's most expensive plan with all the add-ons I could include was only ¥315,000, though I think there were still a few items less compared to Novari.

–Just based on the prices, does the more expensive one probably cover too much or is it a reasonable price for a reasonable amount of coverage?
–Anyone used either of these companies? Any feedback?
–Anything I need to avoid/know about with insurance in general?
–Is it worth it to get a more comprehensive plan or are the basic ones enough for the average person?

Kinda leaning towards Novari just for ease and simplicity but don't want to waste money if it includes a bunch of stuff I don't need. The quotes were for a ~100m2 wood 一戸建て built in 1987, purchased (not rented), Kyoto area.
