Hi everyone! My husband and I are going to Japan for 2 weeks (late Oct–early Nov) and I’d love some feedback! We’re into history/culture (temples, tea ceremony, kimono, maybe sumo), amusement parks, and would love some countryside/nature (thinking Japanese Alps or Kawaguchiko). Also want to stay in a ryokan, any recs?
Big questions:
- Car rental worth it or messy?
- What suggestions for temples, tea ceremony, kimono, sumo.. any events/worshops that you recommend?
- 2 days in Kawaguchiko = too much?
- Kyoto on Halloween, anything fun happening?
- Disneyland vs DisneySea (we’ve done Orlando & Paris already)?
- Staying in a ryokan (recommendations welcome!)
Rough plan:
- Osaka (26–28): city sights + Universal
- Kyoto (29–31): temples + Nara day trip + Halloween?
- Nov 1–2: here's where we want to be in a ryokan in the Japanese alps, what's the best option?is it Takayama?
- Kawaguchiko (3–4): Mt. Fuji views but maybe two days is too much and we could add more days to tokyo or 3 days to Japanese alps?
- Tokyo (5–8): sightseeing + Disney
- Nov 9: fly home
Any tweaks, must-sees, or tips very welcome! Thanks 😊
