This is from Bondi sushi on the Upper East Side and this is their luxury box, I take it inspired from those VIP list sisters on Tik Tok. It is $95 and it is a total joke.
The endamame wasn’t salted. The crispy rice here which was supposed to be topped with lobster was disgusting. The rolls had a chemical taste. No bullshit. The nigiri was fine but no toro, no uni. Nothing exotic. Small pieces of fish and the chirashi really could’ve been from a grocery store. Katagiri’s blow this away. The pieces weren’t even cut evenly. Some slices were huge and some slivers.
This is clearly a cash grab/pr stunt from Bondi, there is just no way that a skilled sushi chef put this box together. Boxes that are half as much as ten times as good. To quote Logan Roy, this is not serious sushi. I’m giving Bondi sushi an F, for fucking disgrace.
I posted a yelp review (management messaged me and offered me a full refund and a return visit on them). I declined but took the review down.
