I genuinely have no interest in watching New Japan at this point. It’s a legit repeat of 2024 but in even dire straits, but oh my god this win felt good.
Goto had hell of a run, I wish he had more 2-3 defense. His absence is very noticeable, considering how lack top talent right now.
But he got to explore in a new environment that should bring more eyes to him (or even opportunity post career). Good for him, hope he comes back soon!
There’s a world in which that mythical Goto vs. Shibata match at Forbidden Door for the IWGP is still scheduled to happen – I’d give anything to live there
Highlight of the year by far. When Goto is healthy he needs to recapture the belt.
Unbelievable that they had him drop the belt to ZSJ who was an anti-draw in his first run
So…was Goto dropping to ZSJ the plan or was it because Goto got injured and they called an audible?
Where are all my Gotomaniacs?
I was enjoying his run, and he just makes more sense if we were gonna go down the Takeshita path:
Invader Takeshita beating the beloved veteran, stamping out the vestiges of a bygone era, and holding his success over the head’s of the young guys until one of them beats him.
The Revolution is never over…
Best thing this year and the crowd fucking loved it. But no, Gedo wanted ZSJ (who cannot draw) to be the main guy again
We’re they any final dirtsheet reports about what the fuck happened to end it?
Did he get injured in the match and necessitate an audible? Did he go in injured and dropped the title first so he could go heal? Did he simply stop drawing and solicit Gedo’s ire?
Dammit I NEED to know why Goto vs Shibata was stolen from us! Dominion was the last hurdle! We were *home free!* ***I bought Forbidden Door tickets FFS!!!*** 😭
He’s probably gonna continue being a top guy when he’s back. I mean he had seven defenses. They were going all in on Goto
NJPW is in a great place, tbh Takeshita winning the world title would be huge for him.

Boy, the revolution ended way too soon.
