Hi. M36. First time going to Japan.
As a part of a longer trip to Japan this autumn I'm starting out with 15 days in Tokyo. I've already booked the first 3 nights in Akasaka. The idea there is to start with a bit calmer area, rest up after the flight and slowly getting in touch with the city.
I think it would be ideal to stay at 3 (maybe 4) places during these 15 days.
The plan right now:
- 3 days in Akasaka
- 5 days in Nakameguro: interesting area, not too touristy, going to bars along the Meguro river. Fairly close by train to areas such as Shinjuku and Shibuya
- 7 days in Shinjuku or Shibuya: more neon lights, going out drinking etc, trying to "maximize" the Tokyo experience
Also considered Asakusa (mainly instead of Nakameguro). My main goals is to get a nice first time experience with Tokyo that is a bit varied. Focus is on good food, seeing som stuff that you should, but would also like to try and socialize and go out partying a bit as well. Would appreciate some thoughts or general feedback 🙂
