Ok, so, our apartment has a urinal next to the toilet. Yup, INSIDE our apartment. It’s a very big, fancy apartment and on paper, a urinal is such a convenient thing to have!

The issue is that it absolutely REEKS. It’s because there is no “pee trap” in the plumbing, so all the air from the sewer comes straight up through the urinal drain.
None of the other drains in the apartment are like this. They all have the U-shaped pipe so that we don’t get that awful sewage smell.
What can I do to manage the smell? 😭 my idea is to buy strongly scented urinal cakes, but I’m worried the smell is only gonna go from “sewage smell” to “portapotty smell.”
