I was laid off (会社都合), which (I assumed) would at least give me some unemployment buffer to find a new gig. However, I had a small project on the side with my 個人事業 which finally billed this past March. Only 250,000 yen or so, which represented roughly a year's worth of work, but crucially it billed this current year. I have no other ongoing or past freelance projects (nor any on the horizon). I'm now reading that it's possible I can't get unemployment due to this. Does anyone know anything about this?
