Things aren’t looking good for the Business Manager status that I currently live in Japan under, and I’m trying to figure out how to stay in the country long-term by transitioning to a job.
I don’t have a university degree, so I would need to go the years of experience route.
I’ve been looking at the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services residence status, and I noticed that although it’s usually 10 years, for International Services, it’s only 3 years.
My work experience relates to managing ecommerce stores on Amazon USA and doing the same skills on Amazon Japan, and doing import/export and product sourcing from China.
I have 2 questions:
-
Would my work experience be eligible for the 3 years for the International Services subcategory of the residence status (instead of 10 years otherwise)?
-
I would have 1.5 years of managing my company that did just that in Japan under the BMV. Would that experience be counted there too?
I’m thinking I can use the 1.5 years from running my own company in Japan, and 1.5 years from working under that field abroad, to total up to 3 years.
