What exactly are my options? Are there any ways around this?

Im kind of in a sudden inconvenient situation . My visa(Specialist in humanities )is about to expire next week on the 10th. However last Friday I pulled out of my contract with the company who was meant to sponsor my visa extension due to the CEO shouting at me and verbally abusing me at immigration(Keep in mind its the 3rd time we had briefly met and I hadn't even started working at the company yet, which is an extremely high tier red alert and even my visa expiring soon after wasn't enough to make me throw away every ounce of self respect, especially not in public, to put up with this behavior).

Anywhoo…I went to immigration today to change my visa to a Designated Activities(Job Search) visa and then after sign up for Hello Work and was told I could not sign up for a job search visa because I was technically not fired from my previous job and that even though I wasn't getting my contract renewed due to performance it still doesnt count as " fired " under law. To my shock I was told that I need to either get a a job by next week Wednesday or leave Japan by then, however I was told I could request a" Designated Activity(Preparing for departure) " visa , but that id very conditional.

Yes I know I shouldn't get visa information from other foreign residents even if they've been through the process as a situation or rules could change in a second but yep im in the mud.

Who of you have been through this before(or similar situations and what are your suggestions? How easy is it to get a Departure Preparation Visa?

EDIT: How long is a departure prep visa usually?
