Hi all,
Background:
Child in the international school, would be 5年生 if in 小学校. One option is to continue with international path, but it has challenges down the line if one wants to consider a Japanese university, so we would like to consider Japanese 中学校s as well.
From what I found:
- The public ones have to accept you, but quality might vary.
1.a. There might be a challenge going from a public chuu to private high.
-
Private ones have juken, it's relatively easy (though frightening :)) to find out how it looks like.
-
Some schools have 帰国子女 exam which might be easier on Japanese, but seems it's restricted to people actually staying abroad for 1+year recently (or are there exceptions?).
-
Some schools have bilingual programs (e.g. 三田国際) with English playing strong part in the entry exam, not sure how many exist and how good these can be.
If someone knows more on 3 and 4 (or where this understanding is broken) or has advice to share would really appreciate it.
Thank you so much.
