[Seeking Advice] Job Hunting in Japan Before Contract Ends (Hospitality/Caregiving Background)

Hi everyone, I posted here before and wanted to clarify and update my situation. I’m currently job hunting and would really appreciate any advice or insights from those who might have gone through something similar.

MY CURRENT SITUATION

– My contract with my current company ends on September 30.

– I've been job hunting on and off for almost a year, but I haven’t been able to focus on it properly due to work commitments.

– I’m open to any entry-level hospitality job like housekeeping, banquet service, kitchen helper, front desk, etc.

MY BACKGROUND

– Worked for 2 years as a caregiver in Fukui.

Certifications:

  • JFT Basic Japanese
  • SSW Caregiving Prometric Test
  • SSW Accommodation Prometric Test
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management

Language Skills:

  • Fair Japanese (can handle daily conversation, read/write around N3 level) — I haven’t taken JLPT N3 officially yet.
  • Fluent in English

Work Experience Includes:

  • Food preparation and service
  • Bed-making and cleaning
  • Guest hosting and recreation/entertainment activities
  • Patient daily life assistance (meal, bathing, transfering, excretion etc..)

WHAT I AM DOING NOW

Actively applying for jobs, preferably in hotels or caregiving.

If I don't secure a job by the end of this month, I plan to:

Request a 3-month extension from Immigration, and

Go to Osaka or Tokyo to submit my resume in person to major hotels like Marriott, Westin, Hilton, etc.

I have someone I can temporarily stay with in Nagoya, which gives me a bit of flexibility.

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR

I’m not looking for advice to take the JLPT N2 right now , I know it’s important and I’ll work on it after the job hunt.

What I need is realistic advice or suggestions based on what I currently have:

What other jobs might I qualify for?

Has anyone here gone through a similar situation especially applying directly to hotels or employers in person?

Any tips on where to go or who to talk to?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
