Hey so this just happened to me so I wanted to make a general announcement but somebody got a hold of my Japanese friend's WhatsApp account somehow and was messaging me, asking for help with an international purchase. They said that the vendor only accepted US dollars in that she would wire me the amount via international transfer afterwards. When I asked her if this could wait until later she was very insistent that it happened as soon as possible. The scammer said that the transfer could be done viazelle and then gave me a phone number and name. Luckily I tried contacting her via line and she confirmed that it wasn't her but I think people need to be very careful in the future because scam artists now are very sophisticated.
