Does anyone know what procedure would be required to request lowered health insurance premiums for an unemployed person?
I’m helping my daughter through a patch of unemployment and a health problem, we’ve successfully gotten the pension payments exempted for the, but the the person we talked to at city hall a few months ago said (I think) something about the timing being tricky for changing the health insurance premiums because the bills for the year would have already been mailed but to come back after receiving them if they were too high to pay. I think. Unless that was at the desk for residents tax. She’s getting unemployment while looking for a new job and I’m paying the difference, so I’d just as soon lower whatever payments we can, but also, I’m already spending a lot of time waiting at Hello Work and various hospitals so I only want to add more trips to city hall if it will be productive, as I do need to be going to work too.
