I’d like to hear from non-Japanese parents in Japan, especially those who don’t speak Japanese, when it comes to applying for entering their children into hoikuen (daycare/kindergarten).
What has been the most challenging part for you?
Have you ever felt that language barriers made it difficult to apply or communicate with the city office / hoikuen?
Do you know anyone who gave up applying because of those difficulties?
