Hello everyone. My Japanese wife and I are currently living in Singapore have decided to move to Japan next year and after doing a lot of research, I can safely say that I am CONFUSED.
I have researched quite a bit and this is what I think I am supposed to do to get a Zairyu Card but if I am wrong please point me to the right direction.
I need a Certificate of Eligibility, Passport, and a passport sized photo and with these 3 things, the immigration officer at the airport will give me a Zairyu Card upon landing.
OK. NOW. To get a CoE, I need to fill out a form and bring it to my Regional Immigration Bureau and submit the filled out form together with a bunch of other documents and wait to get my CoE.
I read that I can apply to get my CoE done online and that it will be emailed to me but I think I need a My Number Card(?? not sure what that is) to do that? Am I wrong? Do I have no choice but to go to the office in Japan and get my CoE application submitted. As much as possible I dont mind going to Japan to submit the documents and not get any one else involved but doing it online would be best.
After receiving my CoE, can I just go and apply for a spouse visa at either my local Japanese embassy or the immigration bureau in Japan?
Seems like there are 2 cards and one CoE to apply for? Do I need to do all these to get a spouse visa in Japan?
Really appreciate any help I can get on this. Thank you in advance!
