WHV/Student visa to go to language school?

Hi! I'm graduating university at the end of the year in Australia and am thinking of going to Japan for 6 months from 04/26 to do language school, just for a gap year to get good at Japanese and to go to concerts/events in Japan before starting work back in Australia. I know my best option is definitely to get a student visa, but I'm stuck on the needing financial sponsor part with none of my family fitting the criteria. I have more than enough funds from working different casual jobs throughout uni and gifts from family/friends, but I don't have the 2 years of full-time work to sponsor myself. >:(

I've been stuck on this for a while and the 04/26 semester is filling up fast for a lot of schools, so I have been looking at getting the 1-year WHV instead since I intend to do some casual part-time anyway? I know they don't allow for full time study but would language school count? and is it even possible to apply for language schools with WHV?

Alternatively, I can get a non-family member friend to sponsor me for a student visa, but given the emphasis on needing close family member for it are the chances of getting the student visa with this super slim?

Would appreciate any advice or hear from anyone with similar experience 😀
