Should I convert my US license first, then apply for JPN motorcycle license or….?

Hello all! Still relatively new to Reddit so please forgive the formatting.

With the license conversion set to increase in difficulty in October, would it just be easier in my case to straight for the Japanese motorcycle license the old school way (taking the class and what not) from the get go or would it be worth it to switch my current US license then go for the motorcycle one?

The only problem is that my US license is from CA so I don't get any special permissions, I'd still have to take a written AND practical test anyway. Also, I don't have any riding experience, so even if did I convert my old license, I'd still be taking the motorcycle classes anyway.

Is there some requirement that I need a car license first before I can go for a motorcycle license? If I CAN go straight for it, am I allowed to drive a car with a motorcycle license? Also, I don't mind if it takes longer, I work, so I can only take whatever classes I find on the weekend (and this give me time to save up for a nice bike).

And before any riders warn me, I am NOT going for 大型 off the bat. Lemme ride around on a beat up 400cc before graduating. To be honest, I don't actually wanna ride anything more than a 750cc… (…yet).
