Hi everyone,
I’m currently living in Serbia and considering the possibility of moving to Japan in the future. My girlfriend is studying Japanese at university, and both of us are very interested in the culture and lifestyle. We’re starting to explore the realistic steps for making a move to Japan, and I would really appreciate any advice or shared experiences.
A bit about me:
* I speak English at around a C level.
* My Japanese is currently at N5 level, but I’m continuing to study and improve.
* I’ve been working for several years as a personal trainer and gym manager, so I have experience in both fitness instruction and management roles.
My questions:
1. Is it realistic to find a job in Japan in the fitness industry (or something similar) with my current skills and language level? (I’m not afraid of working other jobs if necessary.)
2. Are there any companies or gym chains in Japan that hire foreigners for full-time roles or sponsor work visas?
3. How difficult is it in general to obtain a working visa for someone with my background?
4. Should I focus more on improving my Japanese first, or are there options where English is enough in the beginning?
Any advice, suggestions, or even personal stories would be really helpful! We’re trying to understand whether this is something achievable in the future, or if we should plan for a longer timeline.
Thanks in advance!
