Visa extension and permission to engage in other activities

I’m on a dependent visa and I’m looking to renew my visa online. Just wondering if anyone has done the renewal at the same time as the permit to engage in other activities at the same time or through 1 application? I’m not really sure how it works yet. Any insights will be helpful!
