PayPay & Mizuho Bank Issue

Hi!

I have been living in Japan for a few years using PayPay and just acquired a new bank account with Mizuho and am trying to link the accounts together. The one I had previously used had been set up by my company using JP Bank and I do not have access to it, as the authentication goes to a phone number of the person in the company who set up the account. Using the PayPay app (Phone is purchased in Canada, but set to Japan with a Japanese email/login so I have full access), but have been running in to an error stating that my PayPay name (kana) and my Mizuho name (kana) are not the same.

Possible problem 1: When I first installed PayPay, I did not write my middle names as I am not accustomed to writing my full name (example: John Smith – John Michael Smith). I have since corrected this on PayPay, but the error has still persisted. (My PayPay name is now John Michael Smith, and Mizuho is John Michael Smith).

Additional information :

How did I previously add money to my account? Go to an ATM, deposit cash using the PayPay app. Pain in the butt and not always available (Example shopping at aeon which generally doesn’t have an atm inside the mall).
Why is it someone elses number? The account was setup when I first arrived, green and googly eyed. Yeah, I had no idea what I was doing, I just tried my best to use what I remembered from being a child reading as a pre-pubescent child before going to an english only speaking school in Canada.
