I've seen people suggest packing an extra pair of walking shoes to swap between on the Japan trip. I am weighing the pros and cons of doing so. I am packing light, just a carry on and a personal item. (I'll be doing checked bag on the way back).
I will be doing allot of walk- 3 days on the Nakasendo Trail, and hiking one way up Mount Misan on Miyajima. Neither of these are off trail difficult so I don't need specialized hiking shoes for either.
I know the importance of wearing the right kind of shoes to Japan- lived that mistake my first trip lol. I got 2 pair I am breaking in for the trip. Also not looking to buying shoes in Japan. I over-pronate when I walk, and it is difficult to find shoe easily in USA, let alone in another language.
Is it worth sacrificing the bag space? Any other health tips?
