TL;DR A policewoman in Japan forgot her gun in a police station restroom after washing her hands. The unattended firearm was discovered by a civilian employee within five minutes and reported to the police. The officer received a formal reprimand and the police are providing operational guidance to prevent similar incidents.

I thought they were chained to the holster?
I guess if it’s something you don’t use often it’s easy to forget
Why did she take a gun off to wash her hands?
Edit: apparently she took her belt off, but not really sure if this happened washing her hands, or if they’re just politely avoiding talking about the police duty she left in the toilet.
Some of those toilets are holes in the floor. I understand why she took it off.
Surprised she didn’t drop it in the Japanese style toilet. Cell phones end up in there all the time.
This remake of Stray Dogs is weird.
It’s like the opposite of that scene in Godfather 1!
This is 100% fake news because Japanese don’t wash their hands after using the bathroom.
She remembered to flush.
Don’t nitpick.
It’s happened in the past. Isn’t the first and won’t be the last.
A little sad it wasn’t Machida again.
Is this the Netflix adaptation of Kurosawa’s Stray Dog? /s
