My husband is a tattoo artist, we currently live in Canada and have been in the process of an artist visit. We are in talks with a shop and they are going to sponsor and provide visa support. We are aware that there is a bit of a lengthy process but are hopeful! If he is accepted then myself and my daughter would be coming with him and at this point we are really keen on staying building a life and getting PR when available. People are bringing up the changes in laws regarding foreigners specifically in terms of visas coming down the pipeline. So any input in regards to visas, especially Artist visas is appreciated.
I’ve also done research in terms of schooling, healthcare and bringing our furbaby.
our daughter is 6 and just started Grade 1, our school year stars in September, I would consider homeschool until she feels more confident with Japanese because I believe majority school is Japanese speaking. Outside of private school which seem to be quite pricey.
Healthcare it seems we can apply for the national insurance when living there, but if anyone would suggest private than we would consider. In Canada we have “free healthcare” but paying for specialists and prescriptions are out of pocket if you don’t have insurance and not all jobs will provide insurance so it isn’t a concern as we have experienced out of pocket insurance.
Lastly our furbaby, cat age 7.5 and spayed. She’s had the shots but I’ve seen she would need up to date rabies shots and then an antibody test. I assume this may mean we redo shots depending on date of previous but also contacting vet to confirm.
Any pointers or help is greatly appreciated, we are concerned him being a tattoo artist which isn’t highly sought after in terms of artist visa but like I said we are hopeful. If you got this far thank you for reading!
