Hey everyone, I'm studying abroad in Osaka for a year and ended up doing the apartment route for housing. Everything has been great so far since I landed, but the main issue is the fire insurance company application the school has sent me. After the application and emails with the CHUBB the options I have is:
Plan 1 – personal property insured amount JPY 400,000
Plan 2 – personal property insured amount JPY 400,000 with JPY 120,000 earthquake insured amount.
Is this a normal rate? I understand the key money, rent, and other move in fees, but this seems very high. After talking with native friends they said it was way too much but I have no reference for what it should look like. Also, my apartment is around 50 ㎡ if that matters. Sorry if this is a stupid question, TIA!
