sorry this is a bit far in advance but I'm currently buying a new phone and it's got me thinking about the impending SIM card situation in Japan!
I understand we'll need a Japanese phone number for a lot of things and so will need a new SIM card whilst we're there, but I'm worried about losing my UK phone number as there's so much 2 factor authentication on there (banking apps etc). how have you worked around this when you first moved? is there any way of keeping your international phone number and new japanese number?
