Been living in Japan for the past six years now, and it's my first time seeing a huge spider inside my apartment. It was the first thing I saw after taking a nap on the couch.
I tried going after it, but it was just darn too fast. I got too complacent living on the 10th floor that I won't be visited by a spider (and probably other insects, too). I sometimes have flies, but they're easily solved – I don't think I can get rid of a spider that easily, do I?
.
EDIT: Thank you for the nice messages and reassurance about having spiders indoors.
For some strange reason, the spider liked coming near me. I tried to be patient and eventually caught it in a bowl. Then I slipped a carboard underneath it and carried them all the way to the common balcony of the apartment. I released it outside, unharmed and hopefully not angry at me.
It just stood there outside while staring at me (I assume), and so I decided to go back inside before growing attached to it. I hope it never comes back though.
P.S. I used Google Lens to identify it, and it was indeed a huntsman spider.
