Maintain Prestia “Non-Resident” Bank Account without a zairyu card?

I’m currently a resident but I may have to forgo my residency for two or three years. During that period, I plan on using the digital nomad visa to stay in Japan for 6 months every year, which also means I’ll no longer have a zairyu card.

I plan on keeping my apartment, and I want to maintain the automated furikomi bank transfers for my rent, utilities, etc.

Has anyone been able to maintain their Prestia “Non-Resident” bank account (非居住者) without needing a zairyu card?

I tried looking into it but it wasn’t clear whether or not Prestia requires the bank account to be closed in this scenario.
